Well, Jaydex International Ltd has the answer in the form of an ingenious, water-based, environmentally friendly product called Easygum.

As the name suggests, Easygum is easy to apply. Just use a brush, roller, mop, trowel or spray. This ready-to-use, semi dense, thixotropic paste is simply quite amazing. Once dry, Easygum exhibits extraordinary qualities of water tightness, adhesion, elasticity and resistance to aging; it has an elongation at break point of 1000% and when cured, Easygum will not wash out - even with continuous exposure to water.

Areas of Use

Easygum is used for maintenance and installation in the following areas:

• repairing Butyl roofing
• repairing Torch-on membranes
• waterproofing concrete terraces (both old and new)
• foundation and retaining walls
• irregular shaped surfaces
• rust and waterproofing old and new metal sheets, gutters, underground and over ground tanks and any metal structure to be protected against atmospheric agents
• adhesion of all kinds of insulating panels to concrete, plaster, air permeable surfaces
• refurbishing old balconies without dismantling the previous flooring

Warranties and Certifications

As long as Easygum is applied and maintained correctly, it has an expected serviceable life of at least 15 years for roofing and 20 years for tanking.

Easygum is certified fit for use by Beal and Novaglass in its reaction to fire, water impermeability and water vapour transmission properties.

Easygum is also listed on the Auckland Council Building Register.
